Finding Time for Golf: A Frustrated Golfer’s Confession

Your Game. Your Links. Your Sanctuary.

I love golf. The problem is… life doesn’t.

As a career professional, parent, spouse, and homeowner, every day is spoken for before I even wake up. Weekdays are devoured by work, school drop-offs, practices, and the never-ending cycle of meetings, deadlines, and routines. When the weekend comes, instead of relief, I find myself with a long list of errands, chores, and family commitments.

Somewhere in between, I’m supposed to carve out five uninterrupted hours to play a round of golf. Five hours! Not including the drive to and from the course.

It feels impossible.

The Weekend Dilemma

Even if I manage to block the time, the guilt kicks in. Choosing to play golf means choosing which group of friends gets my time — and which doesn’t. It means explaining to my spouse why I’m gone all Saturday morning instead of helping with the kids or house. And it means accepting that the rest of the weekend will be a frantic catch-up sprint.

Oh, and let’s talk about the cost.

Green fees are rising, memberships at country clubs are thousands of dollars in initiation fees, and the monthly dues come with minimums I rarely use. I get it — golf is an expensive sport — but lately it feels less like an investment in joy and more like I’m being taken advantage of as a player.

The Frustrated Golfer's Breaking Point

I’ve found myself asking: is it worth it? Is the stress of carving out five hours, rearranging my life, and justifying the cost worth a game that I should love but often struggle to enjoy?

Golf is supposed to be relaxing. Right now, it’s exhausting before I even pick up a club.

Enter Golf Links Simulators (GLS)

Then I discovered something that changes everything: Golf Links Simulators (GLS).

GLS is solving all the problems I’ve been venting about:

  • Time: A round takes 1–2 hours, not 5. I can fit it into a weekday evening or during a window on the weekend without sacrificing everything else.

  • 💵 Cost & Memberships: Instead of paying thousands in initiation fees and monthly minimums, GLS memberships are one flat price each month. That includes free bay hours, discounts, and perks you actually use. In fact, the Platinum Membership even comes with worldwide Priority Pass Airport Lounge access — and let me tell you, that’s a huge win with my spouse when we travel.

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-Friendly: I don’t have to choose between family or golf. My spouse and kids can join me. They can play other sports in the simulators, relax in the lounge, or even watch their tablets while I practice — and I’m still spending time with them.

  • 👫 Social: Instead of sneaking away, GLS creates opportunities to bring friends and family together in a space that’s welcoming and fun for everyone.

  • 🏌️ Energy: No five-mile walks in the sun, no early-morning alarms. Just the game I love, in a way that fits my life.

A Win-Win for the Modern Golfer

Golf Links Simulators feels like the answer for golfers like me — people who love the game but are stretched thin by the demands of modern life. It’s golf on my terms: accessible, affordable, family-friendly, and fun.

At GLS, I don’t have to choose between being a good golfer and a good parent, spouse, or professional. I can do it all — and still enjoy the sport I love.

Golf is back. On Golf Links Drive. And this time, it works for my life.
