Why I Founded Golf Links, Where We Are, and Where We Are Going

Back in the GOOD Old Days...

There was a time when playing golf on the weekend felt normal for me.

Before children, and before COVID, I could usually find time for a traditional round on a Saturday or Sunday morning at a reasonable price. During that period in my life, GOLF was part of my rhythm. It was how I relaxed, competed, connected, and reset.

Then life changed.

Now as a husband, a father, and a business owner, my weekends look very different. Between morning breakfast, dance class, family time, work responsibilities, and simply trying to get some rest, finding five or six hours to play a traditional round of golf became almost impossible. And even when the time was technically there, it often came with guilt. Being away from home that long just did not feel practical anymore, or worth it anymore.

That reality is a big part of why Golf Links was founded.

Golf Links was created for golfers like me, people who still love the game, still want to swing the clubs, still want to compete and improve, but need an option that fits real life. A space that could fit between the margins of the one (1) maybe two (2) hour window that I could be away from home. With that in mind, I created GOLF LINKS. It is a space where you can play, practice, and enjoy golf without feeling like you have to disappear for half the day. A place where you can come in, get quality reps, have a great experience, and still be present for the people who matter most.

In fact, it is also a place where you can bring your family. A place where you can bring your children.

A place where you can come alone, with friends, or with people who may not even consider themselves golfers yet. It is a place where you don't have to have all of the answers to life.

That vision still drives us every single day.

The truth is, we are not yet where I want us to be.

One of our biggest challenges is helping people understand that Golf Links is not just a bad-weather substitute. Yes, we are absolutely a place to play and practice. Yes, we are a place to keep your game sharp when the weather is not cooperating. But we are much more than that.

We are a place where you can compete against your friends in ways that are fun, convenient, and engaging. We are a place where you can analyze your swing and work intentionally on improvement. We are a place where golf becomes more accessible for people who do not have the time, ability, or desire to commit to a full traditional round every time they want to enjoy the game.

And beyond that, we are a place for everyone.

I know the name Golf Links may sound like a golf-only facility to some people. But to me, the name means something deeper. It speaks to connection. It speaks to community. Golf Links is about linking people together through competition, practice, conversation, and shared experiences. Whether you are coming to compete, connect, or simply work on your game, Golf Links is here for you.

In many ways, the kind of place I want to build reminds me of the old TV show Cheers, with its famous tagline: “Where everybody knows your name.”

That is the feeling the team and I are working hard to create at Golf Links.

We know there are more things than ever competing for people’s time, attention, and presence. Family, work, responsibilities, entertainment, social obligations, and the simple need for rest all pull at us daily. Because of that, we do not take your time for granted. We want Golf Links to be a place that respects your time, values your choice, and gives you an experience worth coming back for.

Not to mention, between all of the automation and so called A.I. efficiencies, it is hard to find an authentic connection to anything anymore.

We are building more than a facility.

We are building a community where people feel welcome. A community where people feel appreciated. A community where golfers and non-golfers alike can walk in and feel like they belong. A community where you can sharpen your game, challenge your friends, bring your family, and enjoy your time without pressure and without the pretentiousness. As a father of a young family, I know that children run and play and scream and drop things, all at the same time. It's OK. I would rather see the family having fun together than the parents feeling pressure to keep the children quiet and still.

That is where we are going.

We are going toward a future where Golf Links becomes known not just for golf, but for the people who make it special. A future where the experience is about more than hitting balls. A future where community matters just as much as competition. A future where people choose Golf Links because of how they feel when they walk through the door.

We are still building. We are still growing. We are still educating people on who we are. But the vision is clear, and the mission is personal.

Golf Links exists because golfers like me needed it.

And now, we are building it for everyone else who needs it too.

Come experience Golf Links for yourself. Bring a friend. Bring your family. Come practice, compete, connect, and be part of the community we’re building. We’d love to welcome you in.

I totally appreciate this well thought out piece, and as a business owner myself trying to juggle similar commitments with similar goals- I think you are succeeding. I am looking forward to finding some time when school schedules allow me to bring in my grandchildren so maybe they see that golf is not just a boring game for old people, LOL !!

I have one suggestion- I have seen some simulators that give you a "down the line" view and a view looking "face on" so you can see what is actually happening in your swing. Maybe if you could even explore having this in just one bay and charging a "premium" add on rate- I think it would b…
